The hardest decisions to make this day… but they were so wonderful! Im so thankful for the compassion you had for my dog and us. The honesty truly helped lead us during this difficult time. I would highly recommend.
We brought our 14 yr old Husky mix into the ER. She was clearly having a lot of pain. Jennifer the tech and Dr Amy couldn't have been nicer. They were compassionate and very informative every step of the way. Dr Amy took the time to go over every blood test result with us and explain what each one was for. The other staff there were just as wonderful but I didn't get their names. I would not hesitate to use this facility in the future.Thank you for the wonderful care we received!
Today, my partner and I made the most difficult decision and our cat Clyde is no longer with us. We are absolutely heartbroken. If it weren't for Dr. Amy and her caring/empathetic bedside manner, we would be shattered beyond repair. Our experience with her along with her provided insight and care were top-notch (5-stars).Rating 4 stars - although it is necessary to handle the logistics, we would have appreciated a moment to adjust/get situated before getting approached for the consent/release form and payment. The staff were courteous and professional
Our young dog was attacked by two coyotes in the evening when all other vets were closed. We were able to take her here and be seen right away. Everything was explained thoroughly and prices were discussed before anything was done so you weren’t surprised by a huge bill. I think the pricing was fair especially in emergency situations. They were very careful with her.
24 hour emergency vets are underappreciated because they typically cost more than regular vets (as they should) and because they receive the most difficult cases (their mission). Our bichon was suddenly in distress over the weekend and EVS promptly assessed condition, recommended a course of treatment, and made us feel like family. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I would recommend this vet to anyone needing emergency or after-hours care.
This is Cubby the cat. I got into trouble last week and stole some string from my mom while she was working on a project. I ran off with it, and when Mom caught up with me I had already eaten most of it. We came right away to EVS, and Dr. Amy saved my life. I had surgery that night and she retrieved the string out of my tummy so I wouldn't get a blockage. I came home the next morning, good as new. Thank you to Dr. Amy and the whole staff. My mom and I are very thankful and highly recommend EVS! Love and licks, Cubby
So friendly and helpful!!
This is a long overdue review of my experience with the amazing veterinary staff here. In September, my cat Luna experienced a medical emergency resulting in a need to have to make the decision to put her to sleep. She had been experiencing some health issues for a few months prior that were being managed by her regular vet when the situation turned dire one morning and a rush to the emergency vet had to be made. Our regular vet at Elmhurst Animal Care Center called ahead to let the staff here know of the situation. They welcomed my husband and our cat Luna, with open, compassionate arms. They waited until I could arrive from work in Chicago before any decisions were made. We never felt rushed or like a burden. The vet on staff that day, Dr. Heather, went over all of the information as many times as we needed to process. The tech that day, Jenny, sat with us and comforted us while we made the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make. They were compassionate and we could feel that they were loving, caring people. I think we all cried on the floor that day. The euthanasia procedure was explained clearly and Dr. Heather was kind and gentle with Luna and with us. We were allowed all the time we needed. They offered cremation and memorial packages. It’s hard to grasp after such a difficult day but it’s so appreciated. Jenny explained this all so well and she was great comfort to us during this very difficult time. An emergency euthanasia is HARD and emotional but the grace, class, care and empathy of the staff here is exactly what you need on a day like that. Thank you all, truly.
